Lesson 4: Define your signature expertise
It is fine to have many interests, but on LinkedIn you get remembered for one thing first. Cindi shows how owning a single lane turns a hidden gem into someone people think of when an opportunity comes up. The path runs from visibility to credibility to opportunity, and you can change lanes later, as she did when she moved from millennial career coach to LinkedIn coach.
You will find your lane where three things meet: what you are good at, what you want to be known for, and what the market needs and will pay for. Then you will turn it into a short statement naming who you help and the result you deliver. Use AI to workshop drafts, but make the final call yourself.
Reflection Activity / Action Item: Complete this sentence and say it out loud: “I help [specific audience] achieve [specific outcome] through [my expertise].” Revise it until it sounds like you and fits in one breath.
