Lesson 18: Create a video from a clear brief
On a phone, LinkedIn shows only two or three lines of text before “see more,” and visuals are what stop people scrolling. Tianyu Xu explains why video now matters across every platform, and why you no longer need editing skills to make one. Everyone needs video at some point, whether for a case study, a business story or an event promotion.
You will watch him generate eight short clips in five minutes, then hand them to an AI coding assistant with a brief to edit them into a narrated documentary on nine Singapore dishes. A job that once took a day in CapCut or Adobe now takes a prompt. The quality still depends on the clarity of your brief and your review of the cut.
Reflection Activity / Action Item: Write a short video brief for a story from your work. Include the audience, the main message, the source clips you have, the sequence, the narration and how you will judge the final cut.
